S2 Ep13 — Liz Mikel

This week on the Dallas Famous Podcast we have Liz Mikel.

Liz is a true performing triple threat starting out as a dancer at age 5, singing by junior high. She also took part in community theater as a kid and was accepted into the second ever class at Booker T Washington High School.

We follow Liz’s journey on from community theater to becoming an Equity member all the way to Broadway.  We also talk about her memorable roles as Corrina Williams on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and Gertude Sanders in the film GET ON UP.

Liz has hosted the open mic at the Balcony club every Monday for 10 years and its still going strong. Liz Mikel has an undeniable presence both in her perfomances as well as in life. Ultimately, she is a story-teller who became a true-trailblazer just by following her muse.

Enjoy my chat with Liz Mikel.
